Nimbus Beds Sales Consultant
Cupar & Thornton | Full-Time Position Available
This isn’t your typical retail job.
Nimbus Beds is growing, and we’re looking for a Sales Consultant to join our team and work across our Cupar and Thornton showrooms.
We’re a relatively small team, which means everyone matters. There’s no manager standing over your shoulder 24/7 telling you what to do. Instead, we’re looking for someone who can take ownership, use their initiative and genuinely care about making the business better.
If you’re the type of person who wants to clock in, do the bare minimum and clock out, this probably isn’t the role for you.
But if you’re motivated, adaptable, ambitious and willing to learn, there’s a lot of opportunity here.
🚀 WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE DIFFERENT?
You’ll have a level of independence that you don’t always get in retail.
Depending on the day, you could be responsible for running the showroom, helping customers find their perfect bed, keeping on top of orders and stock, monitoring sales figures and making sure the store is looking its best.
We’ll give you the training and support you need — but we expect you to think for yourself.
The more you treat the showroom like it’s your own business, the more opportunities and rewards there are for you.
And because we’re a small team, everyone mucks in. Some days you’ll be selling. Other days you might be organising stock, chasing an order, cleaning displays, helping another showroom or doing whatever needs done to keep the business moving.
No two days are exactly the same.
💰 WHAT YOU'LL GET
- £12.71 per hour
- Commission on sales
- Additional bonus opportunities and incentives
- OTE approximately £33,000–£35,000
- Full-time hours — typically 35–45 hours per week
- Training and ongoing product knowledge development
- A high level of independence and responsibility
- The opportunity to grow with a developing business
- A small, supportive team where your contribution is genuinely noticed
- The chance to build a career in sales rather than simply filling a shift
Hard work should be rewarded — and that’s the idea behind our commission and bonus structure.
🛏️ WHAT WILL YOU ACTUALLY BE DOING?
Your main job is simple:
Help customers find a bed and mattress they’ll genuinely love — and make the buying experience as good as possible.
That includes:
- Welcoming customers into the showroom and building a rapport with them
- Understanding their sleeping habits, comfort preferences, budget and requirements
- Recommending the right mattresses, beds, headboards and accessories
- Demonstrating products and explaining different materials, technologies and specifications
- Confidently answering questions and helping customers make informed decisions
- Processing sales, deposits and orders accurately through our POS system
- Following up enquiries and potential customers
- Keeping track of customer orders and making sure customers are kept informed
- Keeping on top of sales figures, targets and other key information
- Monitoring stock levels and helping keep stock organised
- Maintaining clean, tidy and attractive showroom displays
- Working towards individual and company sales targets
- Helping resolve customer queries or order issues
- Supporting your teammates and helping wherever required
And yes — there will be plenty of selling involved.
We want people who are comfortable asking for the sale, confident speaking to customers and motivated by achieving results.
👀 WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You don't need years of sales experience.
What matters more to us is your attitude.
We're looking for someone who is:
- Confident and friendly with customers
- A strong communicator who can build rapport quickly
- Motivated by targets, commission and achieving results
- Comfortable working independently
- Organised and able to keep track of multiple things at once
- Adaptable and willing to learn
- Proactive rather than waiting to be told what to do
- Reliable and willing to work weekends
- Comfortable taking responsibility
- Someone who enjoys being part of a small team
- Someone who genuinely wants to grow with the business
Previous face-to-face sales or retail experience would be an advantage, but it isn't essential.
If you've got the right personality, work ethic and willingness to learn, we'll teach you the rest.
🚗 LOCATION & TRAVEL
This position will involve working across both our Cupar and Thornton showrooms, so you must be able to reliably travel between the two locations.
A full driving licence and access to your own transport would be a significant advantage, particularly because the role involves showroom rotation, although it is not an absolute requirement.
🗓️ HOURS
This is a full-time position, generally 35–45 hours per week.
Our showrooms operate 7 days a week, so weekend availability is an important part of the role.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible with their working days and comfortable working weekends as part of a retail rota.
⭐ THE PERSON WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We don't necessarily want the person with the longest CV.
We want the person who walks through the door and makes us think:
“We can build something with this person.”
Someone who wants responsibility.
Someone who wants to improve.
Someone who sees a quiet showroom and thinks, “How can I turn this around?”
Someone who sees a customer and thinks, “How can I help them find exactly what they need?”
Someone who takes pride in their work and understands that the success of the business ultimately creates opportunities for the people within it.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
📩 HOW TO APPLY
Send us your CV / email along with a short message telling us why you think you'd be a good fit for Nimbus Beds.
We’re interested in who you are, what motivates you and what you could bring to the team — not just what's written on your CV.
Send emails to George@nimbusbeds.
